Completed project

Russott Hotel Venice: the Venetian chandeliers of the lobby and the Murano glass of the halls

The Russott Hotel is a four-star hotel with 180 rooms in Mestre, in San Giuliano park, with a conference centre for up to 1000 people; in our portfolio it appears under its former name, Hotel Ramada. We supplied three families of fittings: the lobby chandeliers, the ceiling lamps of the conference hall and the ceiling composition of the restaurant.

The lobby of the Russott Hotel in Mestre: lit straw-coloured Venetian chandeliers with leaves and flowers under the coffered wooden ceiling, veined green columns and black leather armchairs

In the lobby, chandeliers of leaves and flowers

The lobby runs between veined green columns and a coffered wooden ceiling, with a painted view of Venice above reception. Here we hung six-light Venetian chandeliers: leaves and flowers in hand-blown, handworked glass, straw-coloured, on a gilded frame.

When lit, the glass flowers warm the wood of the ceiling and the green of the columns. In the most recent photographs in our archive they are still in place, above the seating area and in front of the desk.

In the conference hall, ceiling lamps of glass leaves

The main hall of the conference centre, with eight smaller rooms around it, holds up to 1000 people. In the ceiling coffers we placed round ceiling lamps: handmade leaf elements in Murano glass, on a gilded frame.

Row after row, the ceiling lamps trace the depth of the hall to the far end. Between the dark wooden beams the same shape returns in every coffer.

The restaurant of the Russott Hotel in its Hotel Ramada days: a lit composition of clear and amber glass tiles on the ceiling, above tables laid with pink cloths

In the restaurant, a ceiling of glass tiles

In the restaurant the light lives in the ceiling: a composition of tiles in clear Murano glass with amber inserts, mounted on a gilded frame.

The tiles overlap in steps, like a suspended glass roof above the tables. This is the photograph from our portfolio, taken at the time of the supply: a single fitting fills almost the whole ceiling.
