ARTIGIANALE
Lighting made to drawing, by hand
Pieces made by hand from a drawing, numbered and tested before they leave. Not a catalogue: a workshop.
What handcrafted means in here
It means the piece starts from a working drawing, not from a shelf. Every component is cut, bent, welded and lacquered in the workshop; every part carries a number; and the wiring is tested before cabling, not after it goes up on site. That is why a one-off piece can enter a hotel with the same certainty as a series product.
Materials, which is how you look for us
People searching for handcrafted lighting don't search for «handcrafted»: they search for the material. Copper, blown glass, brass, marble, ceramic, steel. Each needs a different hand, and none of the six comes in a standard size.
The copper lacquer on the fretwork, applied by hand to the cut piece.
The drops blown one by one: no two are alike.
The brass profile worked at the bench, before finishing.
Slabs chosen for their veining, then milled for the recess.
Ceramic leaves glazed in gold and green, one at a time.
Laser-cut steel, still attached to the sheet.
Lanterns, Liberty pieces, things the catalogue doesn't have
If you are looking for a lantern or a Liberty-style lamp, you won't find it in the catalogue — and we would rather say so than waste your time. Those pieces are made to drawing: it starts from a photograph or a sketch, we come back with a dimensioned drawing, and from there with a sample. It is the workshop's normal route, not an exception.
Looking for an Italian lighting manufacturer?
Then the question isn't which lamp, but who makes it. Twenty years of production to order, one department working to other people's drawings and one that draws, and projects installed in nine countries. If you are looking for a supplier and not an item, start here.
Where what we made ended up
Thirty-seven properties, from Alpine hotels to offices in Doha. The project photographs show the pieces installed, not renderings.
